After just two days in blighty, Anthony Turner prepared for his last meeting before he could leave. He was to see Liam O’Neil again, and then he could go home. He had the tea ready brewing as the secretary brought in his guest. A brief handshake and they got straight down to business. ‘So you’ve seen the file on Ryan McKee?’ Turner asked.
‘Yes. So he’s not the head of N.O.R.A.I.D. then?’
‘No, but as controller of the Manhattan branch, he’s certainly a fellow of great interest,’ Turner assured him. ‘Here are the rest of the documents you require.’
His visitor accepted the package and fumbled to open the passport with one hand, his other hampered by a sling. ‘Fuck me,’ he said.
‘Mr. McCann, please,’ protested Turner.
‘Sorry,’ said Darren, as he placed the passport on the desk and idly fingered the scar on his check. ‘And don’t you think we’d better keep it to Liam O’Neil from now on. Darren McCann is dead, remember.’
‘Indeed he is, Mr. O’Neil. Indeed he is,’ Turner agreed.

The Ambient E
By Michael Swanson
When a mysterious caller's song requests are aired on a radio show fronted by a hate spitting DJ who doesn't play requests ... people start dying, or coming back to life, and some just go plain crazy.
Across the world, an American musician on tour in the UK finds a cache of ancient sheet music that, when played, may have the power to change the destiny of the world. It's all in the music - the truth, the devil, the secret of everything.
Is the song of the universe tuned to The Ambient E? Is Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven a slippery slide to Hell? Why is the Pope suspicious of Bob Dylan? Michael Swanson's breathtaking rock-n-roll novel may have the answer. And it is will certainly change your life.
The Second Rule
By Clifford Thurlow
When Tomas Sala, state architect to the dictator, finds himself alone one night with an aching nostalgia and a steady supply of booze, he begins to re-evaluate his life, a catharsis that makes him realize there is something vital that he must do. He thinks of his cellist wife Helena, now in exile, of his son, now dead, and of his own childhood marred by tragedy. He remembers his time as a student, designing the aberration that will become the Palace of Democracy, whilst listening to the sounds of his friend Anton expertly seducing yet another virgin next door. While Tomas Sala is able to build the absurd vision of his leader, his personal dreams disintegrate. His journey into the past begins to set out a path to action and, ultimately, perhaps, to his own salvation...
